Saison w/Lime Zest and Peppercorns
History
Great Lakes Brewery of Toronto, ON have always embraced the craft beer culture and collaboration. Years ago when I was just starting out in the brewing industry we collaborated and came up with what we thought was a great idea for a pilot batch saison which would embrace lime zest, peppercorns, and the lemon-lime character of Sorachi Ace hops. We liked it so much, we thought it’d be great to brew it here at the Brewhouse years later. A lot of limes were zested that day. A lot.
Tasting Notes
A hazy amber with copper hues and a rocky white head. The aroma is bursting with that bright peppery, spicy, funky, light barnyard, and lime zest from the yeast and sorachi ace hops. The flavour has a nice malt character to balance out the acidity and dryness of the beer, a lot of lime character on the finish and just a light peppery finish. This is bone dry and leaves you wanting more. So easy to sip and contemplate the complex flavours and aromas.
